Based on Shakespeare’s “The Merchant of Venice”, the comedy was adapted to explore the communication between ethnic minorities and Chinese people. Especially, in terms of daily life and the mistakes arising from their cultural differences. The performance displays a harmonious society, reflecting how Hong Kong people build harmonious and good-neighbor relations with minorities.
